Kill the Gringo

A finalist for the Foreword INDIES Award for Best Autobiography or Memoir, Kill the Gringo spans fifty years, twenty-five jobs, and eleven countries. In this co-written project with my dad about his death-defying life of service, Jack’s toughness, self-deprecating humor, and respect for other cultures shine.

Reviews

“…engaging eyewitness history…and a textbook for those seeking a career in public service. You must admire a man whose career advice included, ‘I often say it’s a gift to be fired at least once,’ and ‘it is always better to be rumored to work for the CIA than to actually be employed there.’

“To [Jane Constantineau’s] credit, Vaughn’s distinctive voice and sense of humor remain.” ―Kirkus Reviews

“Together [Jane and her father] produced a fine read for anyone with an interest in U.S. history and an ear for a story well-told.” ―Arizona Daily Star

Life Out Loud

Ed Nef’s memoir of his eclectic and far-flung life takes him from the Army to the Foreign Service, Congress, international business, and philanthropy. Ed wrote, and I coached and edited. I helped Ed find talented designers, and he published the book as a paperback, e-book, and audiobook.

Client testimonial

“Jane studies the manuscript, then comes up with excellent edits which serve to improve the work. Her objective always is to make the composition more concise, more comprehensible, more realistic.”―Ed Nef, author

From Gherla to Washington

Mike Klein wrote an autobiography about his experience growing up in post-WWII Romania under a Communist government, then emigrating to the US after college and becoming a successful hotel executive and raising a family. His is an inspiring story of achieving the American dream. I helped him edit and organize his stories, then provided a copy edit and proofread.

Our Golden Age Kaleidoscope

Thirteen remarkable men and women who came of age in the 1950s tell their stories of war, service, and career. I edited each author’s contribution, created front and back matter, and shepherded the book through the design and publication process.

Client testimonial

“Jane Constantineau is a consummate, vibrant, hard-working professional.”―George S.K. Rider, contributing author

Ghostwritten Books

I have ghostwritten memoirs and self-help books about growing up in a dysfunctional family, finding love when you have a disability, conceiving a child with donor sperm, and how to become an effective leader, among others.
